The Indian Car maker Tata going to launch a car powered by Air? This new car "Airpod" is expect to hit the market at $10k and just $1 to fill its tank.
Indian car maker, famous for developing the cheapest cars in world, hopes to bring a car powered by compressed air — an idea that's been around for many years.
The Airpod technology is developed by Luxemborg’s MDI (Motor Development International), a French design firm and Tata Motors licensed a deal with them it in India. MDI has its own plan to launch its Airpod soon.
The Airpod will be powered by compressed air. The air used to power the engine can be pumped in a pump station, or taken in while driving with the help of an electric motor. The positive side the air tank would be much safer and emissions would be very low.
In 2013, Tata Motors has successfully tests two cars with AirPod technology. It has the capability of driving at speeds between 45-70kmph and reportedly it can travel as much as 200 km or 125 miles.
